privacy policy

last updated may 2, 2026

this policy explains what unchartable stores and how that information is used when you sign in with discord, upload charts, browse community content, comment, rate charts, download files, or send feedback.

information we collect

when you sign in with discord, unchartable stores the minimum profile data needed to run your account on the site: your discord user ID, discord username, display name, avatar URL when discord provides it, and authentication session data handled by supabase.

when you upload or edit a chart, we store the information needed to review and publish it: song title, artist, charter name, difficulty data, description or notes, upload status, file paths, cover image path, preview status, moderation notes, and the account that submitted it.

when you interact with charts, we may store likes, ratings, comments, replies, view records, and download counters so the feed and chart pages work correctly.

when you send feedback or a bug report, we store the report type, message, optional contact field, page URL, optional screenshot path, and your account ID if you are signed in.

information we do not collect

we do not intentionally collect advertising identifiers, browser fingerprints, precise location data, or analytics profiles for marketing.

we do not sell personal data, and we do not use your account information for advertising.

we do not ask for passwords on this site. login is handled through discord oauth and supabase authentication.

how we use information

discord account data is used to create your profile, keep you signed in, show public submitter information, connect your comments and ratings to your account, and protect admin-only areas.

chart data is used to show approved community charts, let submitters manage their own uploads, and let admins review pending or rejected submissions.

feedback reports are used to investigate bugs, understand requested improvements, and contact you only when you voluntarily provide a contact detail.

what becomes public

approved charts are visible in the public chart feed. public chart pages may show the song title, artist, charter name, difficulty data, description, cover art, preview, download options, likes, views, ratings, comments, and the submitter display name or discord username.

pending and rejected charts are visible to the submitter and admins. rejection reasons and attached rejection images are shown to the submitter so they can fix and resubmit the chart.

comments and ratings on approved charts may be visible to other visitors.

service providers

the site depends on third-party providers to operate: hosting for the web app, supabase for authentication and database features, cloudflare R2 for file storage, and discord for login.

these providers may process data as needed to provide authentication, storage, database, hosting, security, and delivery of site features.

cookies and local storage

authentication may use cookies or browser storage so you can stay signed in between visits.

theme and interface preferences may be stored locally in your browser. clearing browser data can sign you out or reset preferences.

data retention and removal

account and chart data are kept while your account or submissions remain active.

feedback reports are kept while they are useful for fixing bugs or improving the site, and admins may delete them from the admin panel.

you can ask for account-related data to be removed. some moderation or abuse-prevention records may need to be kept briefly to preserve site integrity.

copyright removal requests

if you are a copyright owner or authorized representative and believe a chart, file, cover image, audio preview, comment, or other content on unchartable should be removed, contact us with enough detail to identify the content and review the request.

please include the content URL or chart title, the copyrighted work involved, your relationship to the rights holder, and a contact method for follow-up.
